Flat Coated Retriever Society of Alberta
Official Regional Club for Flat Coat Owners

The purpose of this page is to keep accredited Judges up to date on any breed seminars across the country and to provide all the judges the opportunity to better assess our breed.

As we continue to strive to stop our dogs in becoming "specialists" but keep them versatile in all disciplines we rely on the judging community to be knowledgeable on the breed and judge to the original standard.

Activites such as clinics will be promoted on this page and as well good resource material made available to judges to help them understand "what a flat coat is all about" will be available.

Remember "Power without lumber, raciness without weediness."

The Flat Coated Retriever Society of Alberta and the The Flat Coated Retriever Society of Canada invite judges to attend our Regional Specialty on July 28,2010, our Obedience and Rally O trials for both Clubs on the 29th and our National specialty on July 30 and 31st as well as our WC WCI and WCX tests on August 1, 2010.

On July 30 and 31st you will have the opportunity to sit with Sue Jones (sweepstakes judge) and Viv Bowen (Regular and Non Regular classes) from the regional specialty.  Both Judges have either bred or shown breed and group winners at Crufts and both have a substantial number of years in the breed. Reference material will be available and hopefully a DVD will be put together that exhibits a good representation of all the dogs.

If you are interested in helping us to continue to keep our dogs versatile, please attend this First ever Regional and National held in one place.  You will see more Flat Coats in the two days than you will likely see in the remainder of your judging career.   This is an opportunity to truly understand our dogs.
