THE OBJECTIVES OF THE FLAT COATED RETRIEVER SOCIETY OF ALBERTA SHALL BE:

THE FLAT COATED RETRIEVER SOCIETY WAS ORIGINALLY FORMED IN 2001 BY A GROUP OF DEDICATED FLAT COAT ENTHUSIASTS. THE CLUB HAS BEEN RE ESTABLISHED IN 2004 WITH A NUMBER OF UP AND COMING EVENTS IN THE WORKS. ALTHOUGH MEMBERSHIP IS SMALL, THE GROUP IS DEDICATED TO THE SUCESS OF THE CLUB AND ENJOYMENT OF THE BREED.

  • Encourage and promote responsible ownership and quality in the breeding of Flat-Coated Retrievers, and to do all possible to bring their natural, multi-purpose qualities to perfection
  • Urge members and breeders to accept the standard of the breed as approved by The Canadian Kennel Club as the only standard of excellence by which Flat-Coated Retrievers shall be judged;
  • To do all in its power to protect and advance the interests of the breed by encouraging sportsmanlike competition at dog shows, obedience trials. Field events, tracking, agility and other dog-related events, and education of the breed and breeding, activities for all levels of owners and camaraderie amongst owners
  • Conduct sanctioned matches, specialty shows, obedience trials, field events, tracking and agility under the rules of The Canadian Kennel club.
  • Promote and provide education and encourage functions of interest for all Flat Coat Owners.
